ART CLASS SUPPLIES

Supplies for Cathy Martin's Dramatic Color & Bold Brushstrokes:

The following is a list of materials for the "Dramatic Color & Bold Brushstrokes"

Supplies can be purchased at:

Askew Taylor, AC Moore or Michaels, or other online retailers.


NOTE: Cathy uses acrylics, but you can use oils or water soluble oils in this workshop as well.

Paint Colors:
3 Primary Colors:
- Cobalt Blue
- Red (Pinkish Hue, not Cadmium) Magenta Primary in Acrylic or a Perm Rose color in oil
- Yellow (medium, nothing too light or dark)

3 Secondary Colors:
- Green (Jenkins green acrylic, for oil choose a DARK green like Olive, Sap or Prussian)
- Orange (medium orange, like a cadmium)
- Dioxazine Purple (or equivalent)

Easel:

Please bring a floor easel, we have table easels at the gallery if you cannot stand while painting.

Canvas: - at least TWO 16 x 20, please do not tone canvas prior to coming, bring un-toned white canvas only

Brushes - A variety of sizes in bright (flat) and filbers, you do not need these exact sizes but just a variety.

Brights #2,6,8,14
Filberts #2,6,8,10

Palette:
Please bring the appropriate palette paper and holder for your medium. No paper plates or disposable palettes.

Medium:
For acrylic please bring a water container, nothing as large as a bucket as we have limited table space

For oil ONLY odorless turpenoid or Gamsol, no turpentine or Liquin. Please bring a container with a lid so you can take remaining solvent home.

Other:
Paper towels, and wipes.

PLEASE ALSO BRING NEWSPAPER OR SOMETHING TO PUT IN YOUR CAR FOR TRANSPORTING WET CANVAS.
